And even if your article is not picked up by a publisher it is still put on the directories pages. Most of the big ones have a great page rank which means your content will get indexed faster, so it is still on the web collecting free traffic.

Another benefit is the opportunity to go viral. One method is to offer to exchange articles with other e-zine publishers and run their content in yours. They would in turn run your article in theirs and you both benefit. We see this a lot when people are launching a new product. They will contact other sites and offer to swap some articles in exchange for running one about their new product. Be wary on this one though. You always want to keep your subscribers in mind before recommending another product.

The important thing to remember is that writing articles is a great way to increase your website traffic. Write with the reader in mind and focus on useful material. The better written it is the more you increase the chances of someone else publishing the content and driving more traffic for you.
